Handbags or as us Americans call it a purse, is one of the most stylish accessories available on the market today. It doesn’t matter if its a $20 one or a $2,000 one you can be sure that almost every women out there owns at least one (if not a whole closet full). So you might find a suede bag from Vuitton on a high end site that costs $1000 but you can go to eBay and find that same identical one for $500 or sometimes even less if you look around a bit. These suede bags are so expensive because of the materials they are made from.

Suede leather is most always made from the underside of the skin, primarily from a lamb, although goat, pig, calf and deer are also used in this process. Because suede does not take on the tough exterior skin layer, suede is inferior when it comes to durability but more muted than standard (”full-grain”) leather. Its mildness, thinness, and suppleness give it more allowance and suitability for clothing items and delicate uses. Due to its textured nature and open pores, suede may become dirty and absorb liquids quickly. Suede should be cleaned as per manufacturer’s directions.

Really while suede may not be the most durable textile you would consider for a bag, it still is the most popular and its price tag is easily configured by the intensity of the leather and how the suede is made into a handbag. Its like all the other good things in life, its sometimes hard to come by or the production is painstakingly hard so in turn the price can be higher than you would think it would be! Either way, if you are interested in some high fashion handbags, suede really is the only way to go!
